Job Description:
Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain cable/wire harness detail and assembly designs.
Support analysis and design reviews.Develop and maintain electrical product detail, assembly, and installation designs (., equipment racks, power panels, cable routing and geometry, antennas).Provide engineering design disposition on discrepancies (., rejection tags, production action requests, shop revision requests).Follow documented processes, specifications, and procedures that support the design and manufacture of electrical commodities.Support the development of statements of work.Assist in the technical review of supplier capabilities to facilitate source selection.Analyze functional and physical input used in the development of integrated design and system architecture.
Work under general supervision.Work weekends and overtime, including Saturdays, until the work is complete.Review, check, and ensure that the complete wire design packages are complete.Undergo training on program-specific tools such as EDART, OSDCL, and EWIS.Utilize skills in WIRS, Mapper, and CMPRO.Successfully complete training as a contingency for this assignment.Position Responsibilities:
Understand and implement technical standards of cable/wire harness detail and assembly designs.Implement electrical product detail, assembly, and installation designs.Work with lead and team to analyze complex results and perform design reviews.Provide engineering design disposition on discrepancies.Independently utilize processes, specifications, and procedures that support the design and manufacture of electrical commodities.Support the technical review of supplier capabilities to facilitate source selection.Adjust priorities to multiple demands and unanticipated events.Work well in a team environment and communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Bachelor’s, Master's, or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, or chemistry.1+ years of experience in electrical engineering.Ability to understand electrical schematic diagrams.Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
ABET accreditation is preferred.Previous experience in the defense or aerospace industry.Previous experience in Electrical Wire Design and Installation.Previous experience in Aircraft Electrical Wiring Interconnect System (EWIS).Previous experience in Model Based Engineering (MBE).Experience with Mentor Capital (for some programs), CATIA.Familiarity with work in CADDS Workstation.Typical Education/Experience:
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, or chemistry (., Bachelor).Mid-Senior Level: 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (., PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience).In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
