Directly responsible for the safety and well-being of the YMCA members.

To provide a clean and friendly environment, answering questions, and preforming the specific duties the job entails.

May also work with our Child Watch Program and will focus on safety and enrichment activities with children 6 weeks of age -6 years of age whose parents are attending activities at the YMCA.

Specific Responsibilities Work Schedule Work schedule will be determined by student availability and organization need.

All employees and staff of ISU are bound by all NCAA, Missouri Valley Conference and institutional rules and regulations pertaining to intercollegiate athletics and must conduct themselves in accordance therewith.

No ISU employee (whether paid or a volunteer) shall knowingly influence others to furnish the NCAA or an ISU investigator/compliance officer false or misleading information concerning an individual’s involvement in or knowledge of matters relevant to a possible violation of an NCAA regulation.

Failure to abide by this term of employment shall constitute unethical conduct as defined by the NCAA and may result in immediate suspension and/or termination of the employment relationship with ISU.

Job Duties Essential Duties and Responsibilities 1.

Responsible, first and foremost, for the safety and well-being of the YMCA members that enter the building.


2.

The desk representative will be required to greet the patron, require them to scan in, and then to answer any questions that are asked or to find an answer if needed.


3.

The desk representative will be required to explain the membership procedure, give a review of the YM CA, providing a tour , when needed, and to efficiently y wait on customers.


4.

The desk representative will also be required to look up information, enter information, and have overall knowl edge of accessing a computer.


5.

There will also be money ha nd ling involved along with close-out procedures.

In some cases the em ployee will be expected to close and/or open the YMCA.

The desk monitors may be asked to do Quality Control on com pleted mem bershi p applications.


7.

The build ing monitor job will be primarily an evening/weekend position and thei r ma i n focus wil l be to oversee that the building is running smoothly.

If there is equipment that needs to be set-up, cleaned-u p, moved, they are to help with this.


8.

They oversee the weight room, shut windows, lock doors, and help where is needed; whet her it be ma king copies, watchi ng the tween room, or enforcing the rules of the YMCA.


9.

The child watch/ ‘tween room position, first and foremost, is to ensure the safety of the children.

10.

You are to provide a fun-lovi ng, safe, and nurturing environment for the children.


11.

The room will need to be cleaned, maintained, sanitized and taken care of.


12.

With a ll these positions we require a full worki ng knowl edge of the YMCA’s emergency plan.


13.

We ask that a CPR class is completed provided by the Y during certain times of the year.


14.

If anyth ing is unusual or any issues arise, you report to your immediate Supervisor which is the branch director.
