We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a University Program Advisor specializing in University Traditions. This position is located in Brookings, South Dakota and is a 12-month, full-time, benefits-eligible position.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: The purpose of this position is to provide advisement, coordination, and work direction for student led university program traditions (Hobo Day and State-A-Thon).

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree completed by May 2024. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong interpersonal skills. At least one year of experience in event planning or coordinating student activities/student programs or other related experience. Undergraduate experience acceptable. Valid driver’s license, or ability to obtain one within 30 days of hire date. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Master’s degree in Student Affairs, Education, Hospitality, Communication, or related field of study. Experience advising college students. Experience supervising college students. Demonstrated experience with entertainment contract negotiation. Demonstrated experience with policy interpretation and implementation. Demonstrated experience leading training efforts. Demonstrated experience with SDSU’s State-A-Thon program, or Dance Marathon program Demonstrated experience with SDSU’s Hobo Day events, or homecoming celebrations generally. Demonstrated experience with new student orientation programs. Demonstrated use of technology in promotion of events.
