As an ASIC Validation Debug Engineer, you will play a crucial role in the development and testing of NXP semiconductor products. You will be responsible for identifying and resolving issues in semiconductor designs, ensuring optimal functionality and performance. This role requires a deep understanding of semiconductor development, strong analytical skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.Responsibilities:Debugging Semiconductor Designs: Investigate and analyze issues in semiconductor RTL/circuit under system level use cases using various tools and techniques, such as Si build-in DFT features, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and design verification tools.Root Cause Analysis: Identify the root causes of issues, including timing violations, signal integrity problems, and functional bugs, and develop solutions to fix the issues in design as well as identifying SW workaround to unblock existing silicon.Collaboration: Work closely with design, verification, ATE/PTE, and software teams to understand product requirements and ensure that designs meet specifications.Test Development: Develop and execute test plans to validate semiconductor DFT features and verify their functionality under different operating conditions.Issue tracking: Promptly document problems through issue tracking system, maintain accuracy of the debug process, test result and solutions in a clear and organized manner to facilitate knowledge sharing and future reference; periodically extract debug turnaround time metrics.Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on emerging semiconductor technologies, tools, and methodologies, and contribute to improving the debug process and workflow.Qualifications:Educational Background: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.Experience: 5+ years of experience in semiconductor design, verification, validation or debug roles is preferred. Familiarity with RTL design, digital logic, and ASIC/FPGA development is highly desirable.Technical Skills: Proficiency in using debugging tools and equipment, such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and RTL simulators. Familiar with ARM CPU and CoreSight Debug Architecture. Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python, Perl) for automation is a plus.Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to systematically analyze complex issues and develop effective solutions.Communication: Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and clearly document findings and solutions.Team Player: Proven ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment, with a proactive and positive attitude towards achieving shared goals.Location:This position is located in Austin, TX. It is a hybrid role with 3 days in the office and 2 days work from home each week. This job may not be performed 100% remote.
