The Business & Finance Program Manager is responsible for oversight of business and fiscal operations relating to, business finance and reporting, revenue billing cycle, and the department IT services. This role will work with budgeting and financial data analysis in collaboration with the Director of Finance and Administration. The Business & Finance Program Manager and their team will assist the Department Administrator (DFA) as needed with oversight of the department’s IT needs, budgets, business and financial forecasting, including the preparation of business analyses and pro formas. The Business & Finance Program Manager will work closely with the Department Administrator to review expenditures and provide regular updates and business reporting to department leadership related to division financial health as well as overall departmental financial status. The Business & Finance Program Manager has decision-making authority and is responsible for regular financial reporting and ensuring compliance with policies and procedures of the University, Department, and federal and other funding sources. The Business & Finance Program Manager will be available to Division Managers to assist with budgeting, financial analysis, special projects, accounting, and auditing. As this is a business level classification, job responsibilities combine, not only fiscal activities, but also oversight of 2 FTE, that includes IT operational activities. This position has a human resources componate as well, with the supervisory oversight, and any HR related functions associated with these hires and salary setting. There are seven divisions within the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology and the Business & Finance Program Manager is responsible for conducting unit-level financial reviews with each division and/or section/program quarterly, or more frequently as needed. They will facilitate quarterly finance meetings between unit administrators and department-level administration to review financial performance, identify issues, and work collaboratively toward improvement. The Business & Finance Program Manager will oversee the annual budgeting process for CU Anschutz and CU Medicine. The Business & Finance Program Manager serves as the primary financial manager for the larger department as well and will work collaboratively with the seven other division administrators. The Business & Finance Program Manager is responsible for working with CU MEDICINE, UCHealth, CHCO, and other funding agencies for the creation, management, and amendments of external contracts as directed by and in collaboration with the Department Administrator and Division Administrators. The Business & Finance Program Manager works with CU MEDICINE to develop contract rates and fee schedules and will assist the Department Administrator with Table 1 preparation and data gathering. The Business & Finance Program Manager is responsible for managing department-level funding distributions as well as the finances for department-level funding sources and programs. There are business analytics associated with this role. The Business & Finance Program Manager is responsible for the creation and management of funding distribution spreadsheets as well as the assurance that they are used throughout the department and that appropriate training and advice is provided to division leadership. The annual salary setting process in AXIOM will require the Business & Finance Program Manager to work alongside our Operations Director, to complete these HR related business functions. The Business & Finance Program Manager is also responsible for monitoring the overall financial and accounting structure in the department and to update as needed to inform the creation accurate and helpful reports and streamlined organizational structures. The Business & Finance Program Manager may be engaged in SOM wide initiatives as relates to departmental or SOM wide finance and operations projects such as A2E.
