This position is eligible to receive a $2,500 Sign-On Bonus Requirements:
Registration by Commission on Dietetic Registration (the Credentialing agency of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics) as a Registered Dietetic TechnicianAssociate’s degree from an ACEND accredited program required , Bachelor’s Degree from an ACEND accredited program is preferred.3 years of related experience required, experience at a pediatric institution is preferred.Certification in ServSafe is preferred.Analytical skills to resolve problems that require the use of basic scientific, mathematical, computer, or technical principles.Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing and provide empathy in difficult interpersonal situations.Proficiency in a nutrient analysis program. Responsibilities:
Supports the administrative team in portal scheduling requests, patient messaging, and EPIC digitized checkout.Assists with group classes (attendance; sending class handouts)Completes diet analysis using Cronometer or Metabolic ProTriages family calls/messages by gathering information for the RD to reviewCommunicates with patients on formula tolerance; escalates concerns to the RDCalculates patient’s nutrient and energy intake when ordered by a provider or as requested by dietitian.Calculates patient’s nutrient and energy intake when ordered by a provider or as requested by dietitian.Provides nutrition-related education for patients and caregivers on select modified diets.Monitors progress through checking patient/family understanding of learned skills and follow through with plan. Monitors whether the intervention(s) is being implemented as prescribed, identifying data and information impacting effectiveness of intervention/plan of care. Communicates with RD regarding monitoring and evaluation activities, and with the RD, modifies the plan of care as needed.Participates in supervised practice experiences for nutrition and dietetics students/interns and other disciplines when requested while helping orient new patient food service employees.Participates in hospital and departmental Quality Improvement initiatives. Leads in the development and revision of patient education materials, departmental handbooks, resources, diet manuals, databases, and other nutrition-related publications and materials.Leads in the orientation, and training of new Nutrition Assistants and Diet Technicians, as necessary.Participates in Clinical Nutrition Services education forums.
