Title: Healing Racial Trauma Circle FacilitatorEmployer: MindbridgeLocation: Hybrid (Online, periodically in person as needed)Summary:We are seeking a compassionate and experienced individual to join our team as a Healing Racial Trauma Circle Facilitator. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and facilitating healing circles aimed at addressing and healing racial trauma within diverse communities in Maine. The ideal candidate will possess strong facilitation skills, deep cultural competence, and a commitment to social justice and racial equity.The Healing Racial Trauma Initiative (HRTI) works to increase access to multicultural and racial trauma-informed mental health programming and resources for Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC). By centering Afrocentric and Indigenous worldviews at the heart of patient care, HRTI seeks to alleviate cultural barriers to mental health care and provide direct access to therapeutic practices and resources that are intentionally designed to mitigate racial trauma.The Circle Facilitator of HRTI is a key member of the team responsible for assisting the advancement of operations in the HRTI department. Distribution of work will be determined by the prioritization of HRTI goals each week. The circle facilitator can typically expect their duties to include a 30/70 split between administrative and facilitation responsibilities. Program Development:Collaborate with the team to develop healing circle programs tailored to the needs of individuals and communities affected by racial trauma. This curriculum will be developed based on existing HRTI research. Design culturally sensitive and trauma-informed healing methodologies and activities for the circles.Stay informed about current research and best practices in trauma healing, racial justice, and community-based interventions.Provide administrative support to HRTI, including ensuring prompt and professional responses to emails, messages, and communication from team membersCreating, proofreading, and updating documents such as grant checklists, project proposals, surveys, webpage development, and contractsCo-manage project timelines, milestones, and deadlines using management tools such as Asana to ensure all tasks are tracked and completed on timeRegularly review and update project schedules to accommodate changes and ensure alignment with program objectivesSupport grant development and process Attending meetings and offering guidance Facilitation:Lead healing circles in a compassionate, empathetic, and inclusive manner, creating a safe space for participants to share their experiences and emotions.Foster a sense of belonging, trust, and respect among participants through active listening, empathy, and validation of diverse perspectives.Utilize trauma-informed techniques to support participants in processing and healing from racial trauma in a supportive group setting.Community Engagement:Build and maintain relationships with community organizations, leaders, and stakeholders to promote participation in healing circle programs.Provide outreach and education to raise awareness about racial trauma and the importance of healing within affected communities.Collaborate with local partners to address systemic issues contributing to racial trauma and promote systemic change.Evaluation and Reporting:Work with Mindbridge’s research team to collect and analyze data to evaluate the effectiveness of healing circle programs in addressing racial trauma and promoting healing outcomes.Prepare reports and presentations documenting program impact, successes, challenges, and recommendations for improvement.Incorporate participant feedback and program evaluation findings to continuously improve program quality and relevance.Qualifications:Masters degree in psychology, social work, counseling, social justice, community organizing or equivalent life experience. Minimum of 2 years of experience in facilitating healing circles, support groups, or therapeutic interventions for individuals impacted by trauma, particularly racial trauma.Strong understanding of racial trauma, systemic racism, and their impacts on individuals and communities.Experience working with diverse populations and a demonstrated commitment to cultural competence and humility.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage and build rapport with diverse groups of people.Certification or training in trauma-informed care, restorative practices, or related fields is a plus.Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and adapt to changing circumstances in a dynamic environment.Proficiency in Microsoft Office and virtual communication tools for remote facilitation.Schedule & Financial OfferHours per week: Part-Time, approximately 20-25 hours per week Compensation: $30/HourlyAdditional information about the work:Mindbridge is working to offer healthcare and mental health services to all Mindbridge employees.
