MCNEESE STATE UNIVERSITY  is accepting applications to fill the position for  IT Client Support Specialist in the Office of Information Technology.

POSITION INFORMATION:  This is a full-time, 12-month, unclassified position.

The appointment begins November 1, .

SALARY:  $49,

POSITION DESCRIPTION AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The IT Client Support Specialist is crucial in maintaining the technological backbone of campus operations.

This individual will be responsible for a wide range of activities from installation to troubleshooting, ensuring faculty, staff and students have the necessary tools for success.
 
The IT Client Support Specialist:

  • Maintain software and hardware systems associated with campus services
  • Perform IT best practices and procedures while satisfying end user requests
  • Perform related duties as assigned/required for efficient operation of the campus
  • DEADLINE:  Review of applications will begin immediately and will continue until the position is filled.

    Position Duties/Responsibilities

    The IT Client Support Specialist is crucial in maintaining the technological backbone of campus operations.

    This individual will be responsible for a wide range of activities from installation to troubleshooting, ensuring faculty, staff and students have the necessary tools for success.
     
    The IT Client Support Specialist:

  • Maintain software and hardware systems associated with campus services
  • Perform IT best practices and procedures while satisfying end user requests
  • Perform related duties as assigned/required for efficient operation of the campus
  • Required/Preferred Qualifications

    Required:

  • Associate’s degree from a regionally accredited institution or 5 years of related experience
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks with competing priorities and deadlines
  • Strong technological skills
  • Attentive to detail with strong organizational skills
  • Ability to handle confidential information in a professional manner
  • Service-oriented, motivated, able to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work and communicate effectively with a diverse population
  • Ability to learn new technology and software as they are introduced into the work environment
  • Ability to research and solve problems independently
  • Ability to perform physical tasks and lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Preferred:
  • Bachelor’s degree in information systems or related field
  • Experience working in higher education
  • Experience with audio/visual instructional equipment (Extron, projectors, microphones, etc.)
