Contract to Hire Position
Mostly Remote with occasional on-site meetings in Philadelphia Metro Area (3-4 times a year)
The Systems Programmer will be part of a team that manages and supports IBM Systems Z hardware and software; provides primary support for mainframe related issues; manages lifecycle of IBM z/OS environment, for third party software, and provides support for business and technology units.
Responsibilities
Administer in a large-scale z/OS mainframe environment
Apply and support IBM software maintenance
Apply and support software maintenance of 3rd party software packages, primarily Broadcom
Participate in after-hours support rotation
CICS and MQ Systems Programming support
Disaster Recover/Business Continuity
Maintain mainframe architecture and strategies to ensure performance, availability, integrity of our systems
Extrapolate performance numbers from SMF data
Required Experience
A minimum of eight years of experience as a Systems Programmer in IBM Mainframe technologies
Must have experience with CICS, MQ, SMP/E and general IBM mainframe systems programming
Eight years of experience maintaining 3rd party software packages on IBM mainframes including Broadcom-CA.
Deep experience in providing production IBM mainframe support is required.
Demonstrate a detailed knowledge mainframe systems programming, as well as experience in the installation/maintenance of IBM and 3rd party software packages, performance management and resource tuning.
