Directly reports to the Plant Manager. Functionally responsible for maintaining all manufacturing equipment and components at Almag Aluminium. As a member of the Maintenance team, openly shares knowledge and information including training of teammates.Duties And ResponsibilitiesThe duties and responsibilities of the Maintenance Millwright detailed below, but not limited to the following:Accountable for all mechanical, fluidic, welding and plant equipment maintenance with minor electrical troubleshooting to ensure minimal downtimeWork with minimal supervision in a safe manner maintaining a clean and orderly shopRespond to break-downs immediately and /or provide communication for repairsOpenly share knowledge and train team mates on equipment functionality and history, procedures, and drawing mark upsCoach Operating personnel on equipment capability, limitations and preventative measures to improve equipment reliabilityFollow and take initiative as directed in PM program including improving the program itselfMaintain the inventory of spare parts though initiating purchase request, orderliness of the racks and partsTroubleshoot Hydraulic systems including Pneumatic and Electrical circuitsRepair, Overhaul, Fabricate, Assemble, and dismantle equipment using power tools, hand tools, machine tools and welding toolsOperate and maintain machine tools such as a Lathe, Milling machine, Drill press and various cutting tools to fabricate machine parts to dimensional specificationsIndependently weld and fabricate to in order to repair machinery and improve productionMonitor equipment performance, document and evaluate potential problems for root cause solutions and improvementsFocus on continuous improvement of equipment performance to improve efficiencyMust communicate effectively with all plant personnelComply with all ISO and quality related policies, procedures and system requirementsPerform other duties as requiredRequirementsMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSEducation/ExperienceCompletion of a formalized Millwright Training Program or equivalent technical diplomaMinimum of 5 years' experience as a Millwright/Maintenance Mechanic in related industrial maintenanceHigh energy level, good creativity, self-confidence, time management and must be a team playerTraining or experience in troubleshooting related industrial maintenance machinesTechnical Skills/CompetenceA strong understanding of hydraulics and Pneumatics is essentialExposure to Electrical Controls and PLCs (Allen Bradley) would be a strong assetWelding and Fabrication experienceAbility to read Electrical and mechanical drawings and schematicsA solid understanding of the following equipment/technology; hand tools, drill press, lathe, crane and lifting equipment, multicentre and electrical instruments, cut-off saw, welding machine, forklift and scissor lift equipment, power tools, milling machine, torch and cutting equipment.
