We are seeking an innovative and experienced Nurse Unit Manager (NUM) to lead Newborn Services in the Joan Kirner Women’s, and Children’s at Sunshine Hospital. As a 30 bed unit Newborn Services consists of 6 NICU (Level 6) and 24 SCN (Level 3 – 5) cots The Women’s and Children’s Service provides quality health care within a diverse community across the Western Suburbs of Melbourne. Our Maternity service also has a diverse birthing population with over 6,500 births per year that is still growing.
As a leader of the nursing team, the NUM is at the forefront of the provision of high quality nursing care to patients within the multidisciplinary ward environment through effective leadership, management of staff and resources, and the development of partnerships with all the disciplines working within Newborn Services.

Skills & Experience & Essential Criteria
Successful completion of a Bachelor of Nursing qualification or equivalent Registration as a Registered Nurse in Australia Completion of Post graduate studies in Paediatric Care or equivalent Demonstrated high level management skills Demonstrated operational management skillset, key principle understanding and knowledge of financial, workforce, activity and access and safety and quality domains Demonstrated skills and experience to manage a Paediatric Unit A commitment to high quality, safe and person centred patient care Desirable
Post graduate qualification at Masters Level or working towards Experience in a leadership role About Us
