An education network in New York is currently seeking a licensed Occupational Therapist (OT) to join their team at one of their schools in Westchester County. In this role, the Occupational Therapist (OT) will be responsible for providing expertise in conducting formal and informal functional assessments, consulting, advocating, and supporting, as well as designing and developing treatment plans and interventions that meet the individualized needs of students.About the Opportunity:Start Date: ASAPAssignment Length: OngoingSchedule: Monday to FridayHours: 8:15am to 4:15pmSetting: SchoolPatient Population: Students with- heavy Autism, IDD, with concurrent behavioral challengesEMR: Azimuth SISResponsibilities:The Occupational Therapist (OT) will:Conduct comprehensive formal and informal assessments and reassessments of a student's occupational performance capabilitiesUtilizes a variety of treatment approaches that are safe, creative and individualized to a particular student's needs, monitoring their progressEnsure that each student's progress is holistic, integrated, and takes into account each student's progress and developmental needsProactively maintain communication with students, family members and/or other care givers as appropriate to effectively address student progress, development and emergencies, as neededMaintain appropriate records and reports as requiredParticipate in clinical and activities to advance field knowledge and engages in activities to remain at the forefront of professional development and advancementsRemain up to date on clinical matters, to maintain best in class knowledge of evaluation, intervention, and areas under his/her responsibilityPerform other assigned duties, as neededQualifications:Master's Degree in Occupational TherapyNYS Occupational Therapist (OT) licenseDesired Skills:Experience working with students with Developmental Disabilities or on the Autistic spectrumPrevious experience in a School setting
