Product Stewardship SpecialistBroad Function and Purpose of Position: Product Regulatory expert for a Construction Chemical Company responsible for preparing and releasing product safety information for finished and intermediate products across all technologies. Product Stewards operates SAP/Product Compliance and its Safety Data Sheet Generator that provides the warning label language for all products sold by Sika Corporation and its Subsidiaries around the world. Product Stewards work closely with Local and Global Corporate Raw Material, Chemical Inventory, and Sustainability Specialists, VOC Experts, Chemists, Operations and Business leaders. Sika offers a flexible work schedule.Specific Responsibilities: Maintain regulatory information concerning hazard classification, labeling, packaging, and transportation, as well as ecological, toxicological, and safety information in SAP ERS system/Product Compliance.Create Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and GHS label information for commercial and consumer products.Manage distribution of SDSs, GHS labels and product warning information for all product technologies.Assist in the code creation and extensions for new and existing intermediates and finished products.Collaborate with Marketing teams to approve label artworks that are consistent with SDSs and label information.Support SAP Go-Live projects for acquisitions by building product portfolios in internal databases.Contact suppliers regarding updates in GHS classification and Regulatory compliance of trading manufactured products.Fulfill customer information requests as they relate to inventory status, hazard classifications, banned substances, full disclosure SDS, custom declarations, etc.Participate in local and global cross-functional project teams to bring new technologies and products to market that fulfill regulatory frames and Sika internal requirements such as banned substance program, product creation process, etc.Regulatory Compliance:Support management in the interpretation and implementation of federal, state, and international EHS regulations such as OSHA Hazard Communication, TSCA, DSL, 49 CFR, IMDG, IATA, VOC, Cal Prop65, and Right to Know lists.Monitor current chemical regulations and notify organizational stakeholders about upcoming changes.Assign transportation requirements such as UN Homologation, Packaging Group, and transportation exceptions for dangerous goods.Qualifications/Experience:Bachelor's degree in environmental, chemical, or industrial engineering, or related field.1 -3 years professional experience in the Chemical Industry and/or Product Compliance.Experience in a chemical manufacturing environment is preferred.Working knowledge of SAP Product Compliance.Knowledge of OSHA HAZCOM preferred.Transportation certification in 49 CFR, IMDG, and IATA is preferred.Strong verbal, written, analytical, and persuasive skills and the ability to interact effectively with all levels of employees and management.Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.Some international travel may be required for training purposes.
