Context:
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee the integration of SAP MM (Materials Management) and COPA modules within our Houston client. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading and managing the entire integration process, ensuring that objectives are met within specified timelines and with a high level of quality. Additionally, the candidate will be tasked with maintaining effective communication with SAP and managing the relationship with the vendor to ensure smooth collaboration.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the entire project of integrating SAP MM and COUPA modules, from initial planning to full implementation.
- Develop and implement detailed project plans, considering timelines, resources, and specific business requirements.
- Coordinate and supervise the activities of various teams involved in the project, including internal teams and external consultants.
- Ensure clear and regular communication with all stakeholders, providing updates on project progress, identified risks, and mitigation measures.
- Manage the relationship with SAP, serving as the primary point of contact for all project-related queries and ensuring that the company's expectations are clearly communicated and met.
- Oversee testing and validation phases to ensure the functionality and quality of implemented solutions.
- Identify and resolve potential issues or obstacles encountered throughout the project, implementing effective solutions and minimizing impacts on timelines and costs.
- Document all aspects of the project, including processes, decisions made, and lessons learned to ensure a smooth transition to post-implementation operations.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience in managing SAP integration projects, particularly in MM and COUPA modules, within large companies.
- Excellent project management skills, including planning, organization, and progress tracking.
- Strong communication skills and ability to interact effectively with internal teams, external vendors, and senior stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to manage relationships with external vendors, ensuring effective collaboration and proactively resolving issues.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to make informed decisions in complex and rapidly evolving situations.
- Project management certification (PMP, PRINCE2) is a plus.
- Ability to work independently while effectively collaborating within a multidisciplinary team.
