Job Description
The Weight Architect serves as a specialist within the Geometrical Architect area, requiring limited direction and supervision. This role will act as a global resource supporting the projects / programs with weight input and analysis for current and proposed products. They will also collaborate with local and global cross-functional teams to develop forward thinking and innovative ideas related to weight architecture.
Responsibilities:
- Proactively investigate the weight of components/systems/deliverables throughout the maturity of projects.
- Verify that weight targets are met to satisfy applicable project gate fulfillments.
- Estimate weight for future products.
- Calculate axle loads and weight distribution to comply with legal restrictions.
- Analyze the outcome/answers to confirm the accuracy.
- Provide project updates to the weight architect team at specified gates/intervals to track and forecast vehicle weights.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a related Engineering field.
- 5 - 8+ years of experience in product development projects within automotive and/or in commercial vehicles.
- CAD system experience is essential and preferred in ProE/Creo.
- Knowledge of battery/hybrid vehicles is beneficial.
- Ability to communicate both in written and spoken English.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Proficient in the Microsoft Office products (excel sheet data analysis, formulas, pivot tables, graphs and .ppt presentations).
