A leading process engineering firm with a long history of executing customized design/build projects is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer PE (a PE Stamp is required) with a strong background in industrial HVAC and Plumbing. The successful candidate will have the knowledge and experience to work closely with the in-house engineering team to support the design and construction of complex process-facility projects. Projects include new design and construction of manufacturing plants and facilities, and rehabilitation of existing plants/facilities and other high-hazard environments. The Senior Mechanical Engineer PE will maintain ownership over completing activities to develop the scope of the project and support the execution by coordinating with clients, internal engineering team, internal resources, external vendors, contractors and other critical personnel. Ideal candidate will possess:
HVAC
10+ years of HVAC experience for various projects. Hazardous industrial experience preferred. Experience includes:
(Airflow calculations to size and specify equipment)
(Thermal rejection analysis to size and specify equipment)
- Humidification/Dehumidification
- HVAC controls (both variable and constant)
- Offices, Labs, Cleanrooms, Warehouses, Open Production Bays, etc.
Must have experience creating:
- Airflow diagrams
- Pressure Profile Layouts
- Supply and Exhaust Duct Layouts
- Piping Layouts for heating/cooling/condensate
- Equipment schedules
- Specifications
- Control Diagrams
- Sequence of Operations
- Basis of Design Reports
Position will be responsible (either directly or through subordinates) creating different levels of design packages including: (PE stamp required.)
- Schematic Design (concept sketches)
- Preliminary Design (pricing drawings)
- Detailed Design (permit drawings)
- Construction Drawings
- As-built Drawings
Plumbing
10+ years of Plumbing experience for various projects. Hazardous industrial experience preferred. Experience includes:
- Supply Water (Potable and Non-Potable)
- Waste and Sewer
- Roof drainage
- Tepid water for emergency use (eye wash/shower)
- Lab waste neutralization
- Natural gas piping
- Hot/cold Water piping layout
- Sump Pump
- Offices, Labs, Cleanrooms, Warehouses, Open Production Bays, etc.
Must have experience creating:
- Overall piping schematic diagrams
- Hot/Cold Water piping drawings
- Potable/Non-Potable piping drawings
- Natural Gas piping drawings
- Equipment schedules
- Specifications
- Control Diagrams
- Sequence of Operations
- Basis of Design Reports

The Sr. Mechanical Engineer PE will work to develop the scope of capital projects and initiate their execution. Having knowledge with and ability to perform the following is desired:
- Working independently and supporting the chemical process engineering effort for projects.
- Development of piping and insulation material specifications
- Mechanical support and specifications for custom designed process equipment such as pressure vessels, heat exchangers, pumps etc.
- Equipment and piping layout and/or support design
- Field/shop inspections and construction support
