SW on SECU is a core member of the MDT, responsible for liaising with external providers such as NDIS and housing as well as family and carers
The SW on SECU is involved in discharge planning for many of the consumers and therefore without the SW the length of stay for consumers is longer and the beds become blocked

Secure Extended Care Unit (SECU): Social Worker - Grade 3:
Austin Mental Health provides best practice recovery-oriented care that is responsive to the unique needs of eachh consumer across biological, psychological and social domains.
SECU provides a multidisiplinary treating team of clinicians who provide individual, group and family interventions.
SECU services consumers from 4 catchment areas including Inner Urban East; Northeast; Northern and North West Areas
