About the role

As a Senior Engineer in the DevEx Delivery Engineering organization you will have a key role in helping Zillow Group design and build cross company platforms so we can transform developer experience for our engineers. You will design and build critically important cloud infrastructure and solve core infrastructure problems using modern cloud-native software development best practices to enable developers to efficiently deploy new and existing applications quickly and easily. You will troubleshoot and resolve problems with third party and custom build software.  You will mentor other engineers on our team and help set the direction for how we build and evolve our platforms. We need someone who has a desire to try new things, is excited about working with and learning about a wide range of technologies, and wants to work in a strong team environment.

Responsibilities

• Configure, maintain and support CICD pipelines that build and deploy third party software across multiple environments.

• Collaborate with development teams to ensure smooth deployment and operation of applications

• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to infrastructure and deployments

• Monitor and analyze system performance metrics to optimize performance and capacity utilization

• Manage and maintain cloud infrastructure on AWS or other cloud providers

• Maintain and improve CI/CD pipelines to ensure rapid, reliable and repeatable deployments

• Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior members of the team.

• Colaborar con equipos de desarrollo para garantizar una implementación y operación fluidas de las aplicaciones.

• Solucionar y resolver problemas relacionados con la infraestructura y las implementaciones.

• Supervisar y analizar las métricas de rendimiento del sistema para optimizar el rendimiento y la utilización de la capacidad.

• Administrar y mantener la infraestructura de la nube en AWS u otros proveedores de la nube

• Mantener y mejorar los canales de CI/CD para garantizar implementaciones rápidas, confiables y repetibles.

• Orientar y proporcionar orientación técnica a los miembros jóvenes del equipo.

This role has been categorized as a teleworker position. Teleworkers do not have a permanent corporate office workplace and, instead, work from a physical location of their choice which must be identified to the Company. Employees may live in any part of Mexico, but preferably in Mexico City, as we would encourage attendance for occasional in-office events.

In addition to a competitive base salary and benefits, this position is also eligible for equity awards based on factors such as experience, performance and location.

Who you are

• Strong understanding of SDLC principles, architecture and operations.

• Highly skilled with modern development technologies: HTML, CSS, ES6, React, and Typescript used to design, deliver, debug, and maintain front-end user interfaces.

• Passionate about setting standard methodologies and raising the bar for systems design, testing, code quality, and maintainability - not only for the team but for the entire engineering organization.

• Gran comprensión de los principios, la arquitectura y las operaciones de SDLC.

• Altamente capacitado con tecnologías de desarrollo modernas: HTML, CSS, ES6, React y Typescript utilizados para diseñar, entregar, depurar y mantener interfaces de usuario front-end.

• Apasionado por establecer metodologías estándar y elevar el estándar en diseño de sistemas, pruebas, calidad del código y mantenibilidad, ¡no solo para el equipo sino para toda la organización de ingeniería!

• Experiencia con conceptos y soluciones CICD (Gitlab, Jenkins, Spinnaker, Github).

• Experiencia con diversas estrategias de implementación (azul/verde, canario, entrega progresiva)

• Conocimiento de aplicaciones en contenedores y Kubernetes.

• Fuertes habilidades de comunicación para interactuar con audiencias que incluyen clientes, pares y liderazgo.

• Experience with CICD concepts and solutions (Gitlab, Jenkins, Spinnaker, Github).

• Experience with varying deployment strategies (Blue/Green, Canary, Progressive Delivery)

• Knowledge of containerized applications and Kubernetes

• Strong communication skills to interact with audiences that include customers, peers and leadership
