Metric Bio are partnered with a leading Cardiology Medical Device manufacturer who are looking for a dynamic R&D Software Test Engineer to contribute to the development and testing of Class III device software. The role is based onsite in Minnesota 3 days a week and will work with a high performing R&D team, dedicated to pioneering products that enhance the lives of patients worldwide. Utilize your technical prowess and collaborative spirit, coupled with a drive for innovation and continuous improvement, to propel the efficient and effective development of groundbreaking products. Your role will involve crafting automated test cases and test frameworks using Python and other tools to ensure the requirements of Class III medical device software are met. Additionally, you'll be instrumental in developing and maintaining regulated software tools essential for software verification.Your responsibilities encompass a range of tasks, including analyzing requirements, designing, implementing, debugging, and modifying test cases for Linux-based, commercial safety-critical medical software applications. You may also engage with Systems Engineers or user representatives to refine application requirements, design, or implementation.Key Responsibilities:Design, develop, debug, and review test protocols to evaluate software against requirements.Create, debug, and review regulated software tools for software verification.Maintain development and testing records using approved tracking tools.Address engineering challenges and propose corrective actions.Evaluate requirements, software, and systems using best practices.Oversee test regression and manage test assets.Collaborate globally to resolve software errors.Contribute to Agile processes and team objectives.Improve methodologies through collaboration.Lead project teams through software development.Coordinate schedules and ensure compliance.Document test development across mediums.Engage with stakeholders and champion best practices.Lead and mentor a global R&D team.Minimum Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science.5+ years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor's degree.3+ years of relevant work experience with a Master's degree.Testing experience in a regulated environment (e.g., Class III medical devices, defense, aerospace).Experience in automated software testing using Python.Preferred Qualifications:Ability to multitask various testing activities concurrently.Strong communication and writing skills.Demonstrated technical leadership abilities.Experience with tools such as JIRA, Eclipse, and AccuRev.Proficiency in Python and familiarity with languages like wxPython, C#, Java, C++, and Perl.Experience with both Windows and Linux operating systems.Designing and implementing test software and test automation frameworks.Experience leading teams using Agile or Kanban methodologies.If this sounds like the type of opportunity that you are interested in, apply using the posting or contact me directly. james.barraclough@metric-search.com
